Holiday Spending To Rise 5.1%

ATLANTA, Ga.-With the holidays upon us, so are the surveys projecting how much consumers will spend. According to the National Retail Federation 2005 Holiday Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey, conducted by BIGresearch for NRF, found that the average consumer plans to spend $738.11 this holiday season, up 5.1% from the previous year.

ABECU, Meridian CU In Merger

ST. LOUIS-The $705-million Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union and the $117-million Meridian Credit Union have agreed to merge. Meridian Credit Union will be combined with American Eagle Credit Union, a division of ABECU, and will have an FOM that includes a number of St. Louis zip code communities and select employee groups as well as four Missouri counties-St. Louis, St. Charles, Franklin and Jefferson. The combined credit union will have 92,000 members.

Idaho Dept. is Reaccredited

BOISE, Idaho-The Idaho Department of Finance has earned a five-year re-accreditation by the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors. It is the fourth consecutive certificate of accreditation awarded by NASCUS to the Idaho department, which was first accredited in 1990. The Department oversees 42 CUs.
