Linda Johnson Passes Away

MADISON, Wis.-Linda Johnson, the wife of CUES CEO Fred Johnson, has died from complications of lung cancer. A memorial service is being held Friday. In addition to Fred, Linda is survived by four sons: Rob, Pat, Andy and Jake, and two granddaughters, Samantha and Amanda Johnson. A non-smoker, Ms. Johnson was among the 10% to 15% of non-smokers who are diagnosed with lung cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Linda Aplas Johnson Memorial Lung Cancer Hope Fund with proceeds benefiting the Creating Hope Lung Cancer Campaign, at University of Wisconsin Foundation, U.S. Bank Lockbox, P.O. Box 78807, Milwaukee, Wis., 53278-0807.

NAFCU Promotes Two Execs

WASHINGTON-NAFCU has promoted two senior executives, naming Jay Morris to senior vice president of communications and Carrie Hunt to senior counsel. Morris, who currently serves as vice president of communications, will take on the added responsibility of overseeing the association's marketing and special projects divisions. Hunt, currently director of regulatory affairs, will add to her responsibility managing NAFCU's involvement in CU litigation.

Separately, NAFCU Vice Chair John W. Milazzo Jr., CEO of Campus FCU in Baton Rouge, La., has been named a delegate to the 2006 National Summit on Retirement Savings, March 1-2 in Washington. Milazzo has championed CU efforts to encourage savings.
