CCUA's Corey To Leave CEO Post

WALLINGFORD, Conn.-Connecticut CU Association CEO Art Corey is leaving the position May 20 to accept a position with Tyler Cooper, a financial services law firm in Hartford, Conn. Corey has been CEO for the past two years and been with the league for nine years, previously serving as legal counsel.

Corey's last day will coincide with the league's annual meeting, at which the Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal will be the keynote speaker, the league said.

U.S. Central Elects Exec Comm.

LENEXA, Kan.--U.S. Central has elected three new board members and its executive committee. Board officers include: chairman Joe Herbst, CEO, Empire Corporate FCU,; vice Chairman Kathy Garner, CEO, Northwest Corporate FCU; treasurer Bill Walby, CEO, Central Corporate CU, and secretary David Brehmer, CEO, First Carolina Corporate CU. Newly elected to the board are Charlie Thomas, CEO, West Virginia Corporate CU; Rosie Holub, CEO, Missouri Credit Union Association; and Walby.

Prospera CU Has Milestone Year

ABBOTSFORD, B.C.-Last year proved to be a milestone year for Prospera Credit Union and Insurance Agencies, as it enjoyed a fifth consecutive year of strong financial growth, was named as one of Canada's Top 50 Employers, and relocated a branch to South Granville in order to increase its presence in Vancouver.

It was also a record year for Prospera's Insurance Division, which generated sales growth of 18% over the previous year. In the 2005 fiscal year, Prospera saw its total assets under administration grow from $1.8 billion in 2004 to $2.1 billion. Furthermore, money loaned to members grew to $1.4 billion and member deposits increased from $1.35 billion to over $1.44 billion.
