Matz Joins Andrews FCU As EVP

SUITLAND, Md.-Former NCUA Board Member Deborah Matz has joined Andrews FCU as its new EVP/COO. The $700-million, 91,000-member AFCU said Matz will focus on membership growth, increasing member satisfaction and loan growth, applying her experiences in assisting people of modest means.

Foundation Accepting Apps

WASHINGTON-In what could be its largest grant opportunity ever, the National Credit Union Foundation has set a June 30 deadline for applications for funding. Grant applications must be designed to fulfill the foundation's mission to "promote and improve consumer financial independence through credit unions" by achieving any of the following three objectives: access to affordable financial services, financial education, and savings and asset building. Race Finishes With $530K Raised

WASHINGTON-Credit Union Miracle Day, Inc., the organizing committee behind the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10-K run in Washington, released an updated total of $530,000 that was raised for the Children's Miracle Network from this year's event, $30,000 above the goal and more than the $100,000 over the 2005 event. Female winner Lidiya Grigoryeva donated 10% of her winnings to the cause. Chairman Juri Valdov said he would like the race raise $1 million in the future.
