MACU To Merge Into Illinois CUL

NAPERVILLE, Ill.-The Midwest Association of Credit Unions, one of the last remaining non-CUNA-affiliated state trade associations, is no more. The group, which includes 59 credit unions among its membership, will merge with the Illinois CU League, bringing total membership in the ICUL to 430 credit unions.

Both trade associations have been exploring the merger for some time, with MACU's membership voting in December of 2005 in favor of such a merger, which is to be completed May 1. Joni Senkpeil, CEO of MACU, will join ICUL on May 1 as its Director of Small Credit Union Development.

Arnold, Choate Inducted In Texas

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas-The Texas league has inducted John Arnold and Clyde Choate into its Hall of Fame. Arnold had a nearly 40-year career in credit unions, beginning as manager of Ada Employees CU, Houston, followed by four years at the Texas league and 20 at Southwest Corporate. Choate had a near 30-year career in credit unions, including 28 as president of LoneStar CU.

Lundgren Named EVP-CPO

MADISON, Wis.- CUNA Mutual Group has named David Lundgren as EVP-Chief Products Officer. Lundgren joined the company in 2005 as its EVP-Chief Administrative Officer, and will now assume leadership of all product areas and corporate marketing, in addition to overall leadership of customer service. Lundgren's appointment completes the makeup of the company's Senior Executive Team.
