Hackney Joins Visa USA Board

SAN FRANCISCO-Robert Hackney, president of Card Services for Credit Unions in Florida, has been appointed to the board of Visa USA. CSCU is the largest credit union card processing association in the United States, serving 3,500 members. In addition to his general board responsibilities, Hackney will also serve on the board's Audit and Risk Committee.

NAFCU Elects Board Members

WASHINGTON-NAFCU has elected new board members to be installed at the trade group's annual meeting in Toronto. At-Large Board Members Elect are: John Tippets, CEO of American Airlines FCU, Dallas; Ed Templeton, president of SRP FCU, North Augusta, S.C., and Cutler Dawson, CEO of Navy FCU, Vienna, Va. Michael Parsons, CEO of First Source FCU, New Hartford, N.Y., will be representing Region I. Two of the at-large seats are currently vacant. The other is held by Paula Edwards of Nationwide FCU; she is stepping down one year before her term is up.

NACCU Is Seeking Nominations

WASHINGTON, D.C.-Nominations are currently being sought for the 2006 Community Credit Union of the Year Award, sponsored by the National Association of Community Credit Unions. Award guidelines and entry forms are available online at www.naccu.com, select the "Call for Entries" icon. Entrants must be from a NACCU-affiliated credit union and submit all required information no later than July 14.

NCUF Approved To Use Logo

WASHINGTON-The National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) has been approved to use the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance National Charity Seal. Only charities that meet the BBB Wise Giving Alliance's Standards of Charity Accountability are eligible to participate. The standards require that organizations spend at least 65% of contributions on programs. in 2005, the NCUF said it spent over 89% of contributions on program initiatives.
