1st Commercial Of Ark. Names Fleischauer as Bank Chairman

John I. Fleischauer Jr., president and chief executive of First Commercial Bank, Little Rock, will also become chairman July 16.

He will succeed James R. Cobb, who is retiring.

Mr. Fleischauer joined the bank, principal subsidiary of First Commercial Corp., in 1994.

He had been president and chief operating officer of Worthen National Bank of Arkansas, now a part of Boatmen's Bancshares.

Mr. Fleischauer started at Worthen Bank and Trust Co. in 1972. He moved to its parent company, First Arkansas Bancstock, in 1976. Over 11 years he took key posts with three subsidiaries: executive vice president of National Bank of Commerce, Pine Bluff, in 1979; chief executive of Peoples Bank and Trust, Russellville, in 1985; and chairman and CEO of Worthen National Bank, Hot Springs, in 1987.
