Ahmanson HiresGreat Western's Retail Banking Executive VP

Home Savings of America, Irwindale, Calif., the principal thrift subsidiary of H.F. Ahmanson & Co., has hired Jaynie Studenmund to head its personal financial services division.

Ms. Studenmund was executive vice president and director of retail banking at Great Western Bank. At Home Savings she will be responsible for sales and development of retail and small-business products.

Before joining Great Western she was executive vice president and director of retail banking at First Interstate Bank. Earlier she was a vice president and division head of strategic planning and internal consulting at Security Pacific Bank.

At Home Savings she succeeded executive vice president Carl Forsythe, who now heads the consumer lending and corporate marketing divisions.

Mr. Forsythe had come to the thrift from Banc One Corp., where he was chief retail officer. Earlier he was executive vice president and chief retail officer at First Gibraltar Bank in Dallas.
