Ahmanson unit finishes N.Y. acquisition.

IRWINDALE, Calif - Home Savings of America, the principal subsidiary of H.F. Ahmanson & Co., said it has completed its acquisition of 10 Long Island Savings Bank branches in the New York City area.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The 10 branches, with $835 million of deposits, have been converted to the Home Savings of America name. The California-based thrift, which has $50 billion of assets, has 61 branches in New York with $8.2 billion of deposits.
