AMERICAN GENERAL Corp., Houston, said James R. Tuerff has been elected president and a director of the consumer financial services organization.
He succeeds Roy W. Haley, who has resigned to pursue other interests.
Mr. Tuerff becomes a member of the office of the chairman, along with Harold S. Hook, chairman and CEO, and Michael J. Poulos, vice chairman.
The company also said the James S. D'Agostino Jr. will replace Mr. Tuerff as president and chief executive officer of American General's Nashville-based insurance companies.
