Antitrust Probe of MasterCard Processor

Brazilian antitrust regulators are investigating Redecard SA, the local processor for MasterCard Inc. transactions, after the country's Internet association said the company impeded competition by imposing certain conditions on online payments.

The antitrust arm of Brazil's Justice Ministry alleged last week that Redecard, of Sao Paulo, changed its contracts to require online payment systems such as eBay Inc.'s PayPal Inc. unit to provide lists of clients and to use its Komerci platform to process transactions.

Redecard denied any wrongdoing and said it would cooperate with authorities.
