Bank Analyst O'Connor Said Out at UBS

UBS AG bank analyst Matthew O'Connor has left the Swiss company last week, according to a source.

O'Connor worked at UBS for more than four years, covering companies such as Bank of America Corp., KeyCorp and Fifth Third Bancorp. The source said it was too soon to know if or when O'Connor's successor would be named.

Equity research bank analysts have been laid off or shuffled around the past few months. Goldman Sachs laid off William Tanona in November and Michael Hecht left Bank of America a month after it announced it was acquiring Merrill Lynch. Meredith Whitney left Oppenheimer Equity Research last month to start Meredith Whitney Advisory Group. Chris Kotowski took her place.
