BOSTON- To speed transactions, Bank of Boston has installed a $25 million state-of-the-art trading floor in its treasury group at its Boston headquarters. The floor is the largest of its kind in New England, the bank said.

Bank of Boston's treasury group provides the bank and its customers with financial risk management services encompassing interest rate, currency, investment, funding, and capital-raising activities. These services are delivered through three teams: derivatives, foreign exchange, and investments.

The group also manages the bank's own investment. derivative, and wholesale-funding portfolios, which. in total, account for more than $100 billion of financial transactions.

The new floor currently houses 114 professionals, but can expand to handle 230.
