Bank of Hawaii taps Humphreys as trust CEO.

Richard L. Humphreys, executive vice president of Bank of Hawaii, Honolulu, has become president and chief executive officer of Hawaiian Trust Co. Ltd., the bank's trust and investment subsidiary. Bank of Hawaii is the principal subsidiary of Bancorp Hawaii Inc.

Mr. Humphreys succeeds Douglas Philpotts, who has become chairman of Hawaiian Trust.

Mr. Philpotts will concentrate on introducing the company's new family of mutual funds, as well as continuing to manage certain of the company's major trust account relationships. He has announced his intention to retire in 1994, after 40 years with the trust company.

Mr. Humphreys had been in charge of the bank's retail products group since 1989, as well as vice chairman of FirstFed America Inc., Bancorp Hawaii's savings and loan subsidiary. He will continue to oversee the operations of FirstFed America and its subsidiaries.

Donna G. Hunt, senior vice president in the retail products group, has assumed Mr. Humphreys' responsibilities of overseeing that group. She had been responsible for the group's bank card and operations divisions, and has now added responsibility for the retail loans and fee products division.
