Bank South opens supermarket branch.

ATLANTA -- Bank South announced the opening of its 47th in-store office, at a Kroger supermarket in Lawrenceville, Ga.

The bank closed a branch across the street from the store. The new branch, open until 8 p.m. seven days a week, is the first Bank South store location to have safe deposit boxes.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta-based bank said it agreed to sell its branches in the Georgia towns of Folkston and St. Marys to Southeastern Bank of Darien, Ga. Terms of the sale, involving total deposits of about $34 million, were not disclosed.
