Bankers Trust unit to market ADS trading system in Europe.

Bankers Trust Financial Services Information Systems has agreed to market in Europe a line of personal-computer-based trading software developed by ADS Associates Inc.

The agreement grants the Bankers Trust New York Corp. unit the right to sell and support the software, called Global Trader, throughout Europe, including the former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries.

Calabasas, Calif-based ADS will retain ownership of Global Trader and the right to market the product line outside Europe.

Supplements Existing System

The Global Trader offering will supplement Remos, trading software that runs on Digital Equipment Corp. computers.

Global Trader delivers integrated trade processing, position keeping, and analytic information globally in real time. The system is already up and running at several European sites, including First Interstate Ltd.'s London trading desk and at First National Bank of Chicago's trading desks in London and Geneva.

"We want to offer a PC-based solution that can achieve incremental power as workstations are added on a trading desk," said Mark J. Michener, vice president and director of marketing at the Bakers Trust unit. "In minicomputer and mainframe environments, new stations degrade power and must be offset by more hardware."
