BankUnited, Coral Gables, Fla., has promoted Brenda Greenburg to vice president and hired Barbara Mravic at that rank.

Ms. Greenburg is manager for the north Florida region. She was assistant vice president and manager of the Coconut Street branch. Ms. Mravic, who was named vice president of commercial lending, came from First Union Corp.

BankUnited, a $3.3 billion-asset federal savings bank, also promoted Lauri Demma, Veronica Donath, Alma Lopez, and David Meiling to assistant vice president.

Ms. Demma, who was operations officer of the Coconut Street branch, succeeded Ms. Greenburg as its manager. Ms. Donath, who became the Pompano Beach branch manager, had been assistant manager of the South Miami branch.

Ms. Lopez became manager of the post-closing department; she was supervisor of the escrow department. Mr. Meiling became manager of the Lake Worth branch; she was the Delray Beach operations officer.

The bank also hired Oscar J. Herrera, Gladys Samuels, Frank Savoldy, and Michael J. Teproff as assistant vice presidents.

Mr. Herrera, who works in financial forecasting, had been a financial analyst at Expert Software Inc. Ms. Samuels manages the Falls branch in Miami; she was with Trans-Atlantic Bank.

Mr. Savoldy is the Tamarac branch manager; she had worked for California Federal Bank. Mr. Teproff is in the financial reporting department; he had been assistant controller and budget coordinator at Colonial Bank.
