Barclaycard U.S., the Wilmington, Del., credit card-issuing unit of Barclays PLC of London, said Wednesday that it has hired Barney C. Briggs to be its chief financial officer.
Mr. Briggs comes from Citigroup Inc., where he was a senior vice president and senior director of its American Airlines AAdvantage rewards unit.
Before that Mr. Briggs served as CFO of Citi's travel and business unit.
In his new post Mr. Briggs is to oversee Barclaycard's U.S. financial operations, including reporting, controls, accounting, treasury management, and development. He has also been appointed to the card company's U.S. executive leadership team.
He reports to Lloyd M. Wirshba, chief executive of Barclaycard U.S.
