Secure Commerce Services Inc.'s Paytrust.com bill management service has been enhanced with a service called SmartBalance that incorporates customer bank account data.
The new service gives customers up-to-the-minute checking account balances that include Paytrust.com payments that have been initiated but not yet drawn from their accounts.
SmartBalance is included with the original Paytrust.com service at no additional charge.
Secure Commerce has reached agreements with four large banks -- Bank of America Corp., First Union Corp., PNC Bank, and Wells Fargo & Co. -- to receive customers' account information and said it plans to enroll additional banks in Paytrust.com.
Subscribers to the Paytrust.com Web site can view and pay all their bills on-line. Secure Commerce receives their paper bills and scans them into its computer systems; payments are made by debiting subscribers' checking accounts.
