Briefs: Comerica Names VP For Its Trade Services

Comerica Bank California, a unit of Detroit-based Comerica Inc., has promoted Glenn Colville to first vice president and alternate group manager for international banking.

Mr. Colville assumes statewide responsibility for marketing international trade services in the state and also shares responsibility for trade finance nationally for Comerica Bank with Gary Luxon in Detroit.

Mr. Colville has more than 20 years of international banking experience that includes 12 years at Security Pacific Corp. and a year at BankAmerica Corp. after the two banks merged. He joined Comerica in 1994.

Comerica Bank-California, a separately chartered $3.5 billion-asset commercial bank, has 32 offices in California serving mainly middle-market companies. Comerica entered the California market in 1991 with the purchase of Plaza Bank of Commerce in San Jose and is now the eighth-largest bank in the state.
