Capital Bancorp, Miami, elected Florida attorney Hugh F. Culverhouse Jr. to fill a vacancy on its board of directors.

Mr. Culverhouse has been in private practice for eight years. Formerly, he was a director of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team and an assistant U.S. attorney in Miami. He currently is a director of the Del Webb Corp.

The board vacancy was created by the resignation in June of Timothy E. Kish, Capital Bank's corporate counsel. Mr. Kish continues as senior officer and counsel for Capital Bancorp and its subsidiaries.
