Capital Briefs: Former N.J. Governor Joins Home Loan Board

Former New Jersey Gov. Jim Florio has joined the board of directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.

Mr. Florio, who lost to Christine Todd Whitman in his 1993 reelection bid, was appointed by the Federal Housing Finance Board to one of six public-interest director slots on the New York board.

The former governor, who also served eight terms in the House of Representatives, is a partner in the law firm of Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander and Ferdon in Parsippany, N.J.

Mr. Florio's four-year term will expire Dec. 31, 1998.
