The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council has prepared a set of commonly asked questions and answers about the new Camels rating system.

On Jan. 1 an "S" component, standing for "sensitivity to market risk," was added to the system, which is used to rate the performance of financial institutions. Most of the questions address the new factor-for example, how the S component will be determined and how much weight it will carry in the composite rating.
