Capital Briefs: OCC to Accept Comments Over the Internet

Comment letters to the Comptroller of the Currency's office can now be submitted over the Internet, the agency announced Tuesday. Comments should be sent to: regs.comments occ.treas.gov.

The agency follows the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. onto the information superhighway. FDIC began accepting comment letters over the Internet in June.

The Comptroller's office also announced a new site on the Internet's World Wide Web. The public can browse Community Reinvestment Act exam schedules, a biography of Comptroller Eugene A. Ludwig, and a directory to agency offices, among other things. The location is http://www.occ.treas.gov.

The Comptroller's office is expected this year to expand its Internet offerings to include news releases, speeches, and programs that perform calculations required by Truth-in-Lending.
