Card briefs: 1st Data Appoints President for Collections

First Data Corp.'s card services group named Christopher J. Shuler, 34, president of credit performance services.

Mr. Shuler will direct daily operations of the unit's prechargeoff collection service.

He most recently was an executive in First Data's nationwide credit collections unit, and he has held a variety of management posts since joining the company in 1992.

He formerly was vice president of business development at National Bankruptcy Service Corp., Atlanta. He also was marketing director at Wallace and deMayo, an Atlanta recovery management firm.

Mr. Shuler will report to Paul R. Garcia, group president of First Data Issuing Services.
