MasterCard said Wednesday that it has invited six candidates to compete for its U.S. advertising account.

Two of the ad agencies are incumbents: GSD&M and Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG. The other participants are J. Walter Thompson, Grey Advertising, McCann-Erickson Worldwide, and Leo Burnett.

In addition, MasterCard has retained Morgan Anderson & Co. to advise during the selection process.
