Card Briefs: Airline Credit Union, Colo. Banks, Join Pulse

Pulse EFT Association, the regional network, has added two Colorado banks and an airline credit union to its membership.

State subsidiaries of Wells Fargo & Co. and KeyCorp have added their Colorado automated teller machines to Pulse's network. American Airlines Employees Federal Credit Union, with 165,000 cardholders, has also joined Pulse.

The two commercial banks are looking to capitalize on the Pulse brand in Colorado, one of eight states in which the Houston-based network operates. Wells Fargo Bank and KeyBank had already participated in Pulse in other states.

"We're really excited," said Mary Brown, Pulse senior vice president. "They are two major players that will help us on deployment of ATMs and point of sale."

The American Airlines credit union, with more than $2 billion of assets, is similarly looking to benefit from the brand connection. The institution has 30,000 cardholders in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, where the airline is based.
