Card Briefs: BB&T to Link ATMs With Dial-Up Network

Services Inc., a provider of data communications services to banks and transaction processors. North Carolina-based BB&T will convert some of its 740 automated teller machines from leased lines to a dial-up network using TNS TransXpress 1000 modems, the vendor said. "The agreement with TNS will help BB&T meet increasing customer demand for ATM availability and maintain the highest level of customer service," said Tom McFarland, senior vice president and manager of BB&T's alternative delivery systems department.
