Card Briefs: CCN Group Adopts Experian Name

CCN Group, the consumer information and credit scoring company that took over TRW Information Systems and Services in November, has changed its name to Experian.

The TRW unit had adopted the Experian name last year, before the acquisition by CCN and its parent, Great Universal Stores of the United Kingdom.

John Peace, chief executive officer of Experian, said the change underscores the formation of "one global organization operating to the same standards in everything we do."

The U.S. organization consists of four groups:

Strategic solutions, including credit scoring, consulting, and decision support. This includes the North American division of CCN in Atlanta, formerly known as the MDS division.

Information solutions, the U.S. credit bureau with consumer and business information.

Marketing solutions, established with Experian's recent acquisition of Direct Marketing Technology Inc.

Real estate solutions, including property data and title information.
