Card Briefs: Comerica Putting ATMs In 250 Mich. Drugstores

Comerica Bank is placing automated teller machines in 250 Arbor drugstores in Michigan.

Comerica said the deployment agreement is the largest of its kind between a Michigan bank and a local retailer.

"This agreement represents a $7 million capital investment by Comerica to significantly expand the convenience we offer our customers," said Richard G. Lyons Jr., the Detroit bank's senior vice president of electronic banking and marketplace technology.

"Comerica's ATM and Visa check cardholders now can bank wherever their travels take them in Michigan."

The Arbor installations began in four pilot locations in southeastern Michigan and are expected to be completed in September. Comerica customers will not incur access fees.
