Card Briefs: Company Orders 1,000 Siemens Cash Dispensers

Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems Inc., the U.S. unit of Siemens Nixdorf of Germany, said it has an order to provide 1,000 cash dispensers to Bailey Group, a supplier of automated teller machines to nonbank locations such as gasoline stations, convenience stores, and hotels.

The ProCash Compact machines run on the Microsoft Windows NT operating system and have full-motion video screens for advertising.

"We found the Siemens Nixdorf equipment to be superior in style and functionality" to other models, said Beth Bailey Alexander, president of Bailey Group, Bozeman, Mont. "The ProCash Compact provides the high visibility, compactness, and ease of use needed in most retail markets."

Siemens Nixdorf said it is the fourth-largest ATM manufacturer, shipping 8,500 ATMs and cash dispensers last year and more than 5,000 in the first half of 1998.
