Card Briefs: Credit Scoring Book In Third Printing

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - The growing interest in credit scoring has led to the third printing by Athena Press of "An Introduction to Credit Scoring," Edward M. Lewis' 1989 book on using statistics to predict credit behavior.

Mr. Lewis, a retired executive of Fair, Isaac & Co. who helped develop credit scoring in the 1960s, said much of the demand comes from lenders who use the book for staff training.

The book discusses the history, myths, and social ramifications of credit scoring, along with details on how the systems work in application processing and account management. Also included is a glossary of scoring- related terms.
