WASHINGTON - The Postal Service announced that it will honor Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards when its card acceptance program is launched nationwide this spring.

Post offices will also accept national and regional debit card brands.

The program will start in Seattle, Denver, and San Diego, and will be rolled out nationally within two years. When complete, 50,000 card authorization terminals will have been placed in 33,000 post offices.
