Card Briefs: Speer Partners Named Chairman, President

Two lead partners have been given top titles at Speer & Associates Inc., a consulting firm in retail banking, electronic banking, and payment systems.

George L. Albright, a co-founder of the firm with Richard N. Speer Jr. in 1980, was named chairman. Richard T. Robida, who came to the firm in 1989 from Bank of Nova Scotia, was appointed president.

Mr. Speer, who continues as chief executive officer, said the promotions "address the need to provide leadership to our expanding business" while recognizing the individuals' "outstanding accomplishments."

Speer also announced that Peter B. Davidson has joined its board of directors. He came to the company this year after being executive vice president of retail banking at Marine Midland Bank.
