Card Briefs: W. Va. Bank's Portfolio Is Sold for $15 Million

Inficorp bought Wesbanco Inc.'s $15 million credit card portfolio as part of an agreement to provide agent banking services to the Wheeling, W.Va.-based holding company.

Wesbanco operates four banks through 60 branches in West Virginia and Ohio. Inficorp will issue credit cards on behalf of WesBanco, providing underwriting and back-office support.

Inficorp, which supplies consulting and operations support to financial institutions, also signed deals to provide portfolio management services to two credit unions-New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and Xerox Federal Credit Union.

Separately, Inficorp said it bought the Internet, telephone marketing, and credit application services division of the BISYS Group Inc. The unit has been renamed Infilink and will be a subsidiary of Inficorp. Infilink provides loan services to consumers via the Internet and telephone.
