Card Briefs: Wis. Banker Elected To Head IBAA Bancard

IBAA Bancard said it has elected David Ballweg chairman.

Mr. Ballweg, chairman of Community State Bank in Union Grove, Wis., was one of eight board members reelected.

Jim Tribbett, president and chief executive officer of Bank of Whitman in Colfax, Wash., was named treasurer and director of the Western region. Walter Daller Jr., who is chairman, president, and chief executive of Harleysville (Pa.) National Bank and Trust, will be the director representing the Northeast region.

Mark Hesser, president of Havelock Bank in Lincoln, Neb., will be director of the Midwest region. William Sones, who is chairman, president, and chief executive of State Bank and Trust in Brookhaven, Miss., will be director of the southern region.

Richard Tucker, who is president, chairman, and chief executive of Tri- State Bank in Denver, Co., will be director of the southwest region. Ken Guenther, executive vice president of the Independent Bankers Association of America, and Linda Echard, president and chief executive of IBAA Bancard, round out the board.

IBAA chairman Richard Mount, who is also president of Saratoga (Calif.) National Bank, was elected vice chairman of the bank card unit.

George Astrike, chairman and chief executive of German American Bancorp in Jasper, Ind., was confirmed as director of the Great Lakes region. He was first appointed at an IBAA Community Banking Network meeting in June.
