Cards Briefs: AT&T, Lockheed Join To Develop a Key Card

WASHINGTON - AT&T and Lockheed Martin are teaming up to develop and market a smart card for secure access to corporate or government buildings and information systems.

Credit-card-size identification badges can carry information such as fingerprints, photos, voice prints, and other personal data on a contactless computer chip, developed by AT&T Bell Laboratories.

The two companies will promote the system, which includes the cards and smart card readers.
