Cards Briefs: Fifth Third Promotes 3 at Processing Unit

Fifth Third Bancorp promoted three officers to assistant vice president. The three work for Midwest Payment Systems, the bank's data processing subsidiary.

Rose M. Vitale, who joined Fifth Third in 1993, is now responsible for creating and maintaining the bank's World Wide Web site on the Internet.

Theresa J. Muenks, with the bank since 1987, is head of the bank card programming development project, responsible for enhancements to the system, including Visa check cards and MasterMoney cards.

Laura Munz, who joined Fifth Third in 1991, is responsible for the day- to-day operations of Midwest Payment Systems, as well as accounting and merchant and issuer services for the bank card group.

In 1995, Midwest Payment Systems processed 1.62 billion automated teller machine and point of sale transactions for more than 1,100 financial institutions and 17,775 merchants worldwide.
