In CashEdge’s third annual consumer survey, the online money movement vendor has found more people are increasingly interested in opening and funding accounts online, as well as conducting online funds transfers – including third-party options –at their banks.
Survey results show that 45 percent of those polled reported using online funds transfers, up from 37 percent in 2007; 58 percent have opened an account online; and 25 percent who had not done so expressed an interest in online account opening.
CashEdge also noted a surge in interest in person-to-person accounts funds transfer (now 88 percent).
Most of those polled (73 percent) expect same-day availability of funds in a new account opened via online channels. The survey shows that a majority of financial services customers (58 percent) have now opened an account online, while 82 percent expect to have the option available to them.
