CenterState in Fla. taps next bank president

CenterState Banks in Winter Haven, Fla., had named a new bank president.

The $6.8 billion-asset company said in a press release Monday that Mark Thompson had previously been a regional president overseeing the South Florida market.

John Corbett remains CEO of the bank and president and CEO of the holding company.

Thompson “is a CenterState veteran and is uniquely qualified to lead the organic growth of our bank over the next decade,” Corbett said in the release. “With every assignment, Mark's enthusiasm, his commitment to our core values and his genuine care for our team has translated into exceptional results."

Thompson has held various roles at CenterState since 2005, including area executive for Polk County, Fla., chief credit officer and head of special assets.
