Central Virginia adds a penny dividend.

POWHATAN, Va. -- Central Virginia Bankshares announced it is raising its quarterly cash dividend for shareholders by a penny a share -- from 14 cents to 15.

The 7.1% hike marks the seventh consecutive year that the company has raised its dividend. It has issued dividends since 1977.

Central Virginia Bank is a 21-year-old, $104 million-asset community bank based in Flat Rock. It also has offices in Midlothian a in Cumberland County.
