NEW ENGLAND

Century Bank and Trust Co., Medford, Mass., a subsidiary of Century Bancorp, hired Gregory P. Dormitzer as senior vice president and promoted Richard B. Lockwood 3d to that rank.

Mr. Dormitzer, who will lead the commercial loan department, was the Fleet Financial Group senior vice president responsible for lending to law firms in the Boston area. He came to Fleet from Bank of New England, which it bought in 1991.

Mr. Lockwood is the bank's marketing director and Community Reinvestment Act officer. Before he joined Century Bank in 1994, he was president of Atlantic Resources, a Boston-based a bank consulting firm. Earlier he held jobs with Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston and State Street Bank.
