Ceridian Buys Issuer Of Cards for Truckers

Ceridian Corp., a provider of funds transfer services, has acquired TIC Financial Services Inc.

Based in Nashville, Tenn., TIC issues cards used for fuel purchases, cash advances, and phone calls by truck drivers and other members of the transportation industry.

TIC is now part of Ceridian's Comdata business unit.

"A service that TIC will soon introduce - card-based payment for tolls and lodging - should be very attractive to Comdata's customers," said Larry McTavish, executive vice president of Ceridian and chairman and chief executive officer of Comdata.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. TIC had $9 million in revenue last year.
