Chase Manhattan Corp. issued $150 million in 10-year subordinated notes in an offering underwritten by Merrill Lynch Capital Markets.

The 9.75% notes were priced at 223 basis points over comparable Treasury securities. They are rated BBB by Standard & Poor's Corp. and Ba2 by Moody's Investors Service.
