Chase picks Dreyer to head new unit.

Chase Manhattan Corp. has named Geoff Dreyer as president of Troy & Nichols, a mortgage unit in Monroe, La.

Chase announced the appointment on Thursday as part of a statement that it had completed its acquisition of the company.

Mr. Dreyer was formerly chief financial officer of Chase Home Mortgage Corp., Tampa, Fla., Chase Manhattan's main mortgage banking subsidiary.

$10 Billion Servicing Portfolio

Troy & Nichols services about $10 billion in residential loans and plans to originate $2.5 billion in mortgages this year.

Chase announced on March 15 that it would acquire the company from First Gibraltar Mortgage Holdings.

Chase plans to operate the company as a separate subsidiary and will keep the Troy & Nichols name. The company operates 21 offices in seven southern states.

Chase Home Mortgage services $48 billion in home loans and says it expects to originate $14 billion in mortgages this year.
