Chase said to be selling Pakistan branches.

KARACHI, Pakistan - Chase Manhattan Corp. is winding down its operations here, the company confirmed.

Chase's two branches in Karachi and Lahore, which employ about 82 people, are being sold to the private Muslim Commercial Bank.

Officials of Chase said the company will continue to serve its global wholesale clients through its international network.

Chase's Pakistani operations, which are capitalized at $4 million, earned $3.3 million in 1992, according to Reuters.
