Chase Taps Chiefs For Global Services, Private Banking

Chase Manhattan Corp. has named private banking chief James W. Zeigon to the post of global services executive.

He succeeds Richard J. Matteis, who is retiring June 30. Mr. Zeigon will report to Chase president Thomas G. Labrecque.

The moves, announced Tuesday in an internal memorandum, triggered several other executive changes.

Arjun K. Mathrani succeeds Mr. Zeigon as head of global asset management and private banking. He had been head of global client management.

James B. Lee Jr. picks up Mr. Mathrani's client management duties. He will continue as head of global investment banking.

Donald H. Layton, head of global markets and international, will handle international regional client management and will take on additional planning and finance duties for the global bank.
