Citigroup Inc. promoted Cindy Armine, a 28-year veteran of the New York company, to chief compliance office.

She was most recently the head of compliance for the wealth management division, Citi wrote this week in an internal memo confirmed by Shannon Bell, a spokeswoman for the company.

Ms. Armine, 47, will report to vice chairman Lewis Kaden and succeeded Martin Wong, who has become Citi's chief administrative and chief legal officer for the Asia Pacific region. He will be based in Hong Kong.
