Citibank testing customer center.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Citicorp's Citibank unit is testing a computerized customer center in Puerto Rico that could let the bank expand its consumer presence to other countries without opening new branches, bank officials said.

The center, the first of its kind for Citibank, lets customers change addresses and make printouts of account activity on a computer, according to Franklin Burnside, Citibank's country corporate officer in Puerto Rico.

Citibank aims for seven such centers in Puerto Rico in the next year, said Jose Canepa, branch and card business manager for Citibank in Puerto Rico.
