Continental Of Seattle Hires Brian Dempsey as Vice Chairman

Brian Dempsey, former chairman and chief executive of University Savings Bank in Seattle, has been named vice chairman of Continental Savings Bank there.

He also was elected to Continental's board.

Mr. Dempsey joined University in 1962 as chief financial officer, and remained when Glendale Federal Bank bought it in 1989. He became a Glendale director in 1991 and retired in January 1995, when University was sold to First Interstate.

Continental Savings Bank, a subsidiary of Continental Inc., was established in 1921.
